Tragedy has struck the Lagos State Police Command following the discovery of a missing officer, Inspector Bishop Clement, who was found dead nearly a week after his disappearance was first reported.
The late officer’s body was discovered at the Second Rainbow area in Festac Town, Lagos, under circumstances that remain unclear as of the time of this report. The grim development follows a citywide search launched after Clement’s wife reported him missing on April 23, 2025.
According to a police internal signal with reference number 2680/LS/AP/VOL.1/146, Inspector Clement, identified by his service number AP/No. 352498, failed to return home from work on the day he went missing. His phones were also unreachable, raising immediate concern about his whereabouts.
The signal, which was issued by the Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration (COMPOL DFA), and countersigned by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Area ‘B’ Apapa, urged all police formations across Lagos to be on alert and assist in tracing the missing officer.
Sadly, hopes for a positive outcome were dashed when Clement’s lifeless body was found, marking a tragic end to the search efforts. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and authorities have remained tight-lipped as investigations begin.
When contacted for an official statement, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, was unreachable. Text messages sent to his known line had not been returned at the time of publication.
