Tinubu’s Visit Affirms Anambra’s Safety – Police Commissioner Commends Peaceful Hosting

The successful visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Anambra State has been hailed by the Nigeria Police as a powerful testament to the state's growing security and stability.

In a statement released on Friday in Awka, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, through Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga, noted that the peaceful and well-organized presidential tour reflected the state's readiness to host high-profile dignitaries without incident.

President Tinubu’s one-day working visit included the commissioning of several transformative projects: the newly built Anambra State Government House, the Solution Fun City, and the Governor’s and Presidential lodges. He also inaugurated the prestigious Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka — all executed without any security hitches.

CP Orutugu commended residents and stakeholders for their cooperation with law enforcement before, during, and after the visit. He highlighted the seamless coordination among security agencies as a key factor in the event’s success.

“The safe and smooth hosting of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Awka is a clear endorsement of the current security architecture in Anambra State,” Orutugu said. “It demonstrates not only that the state is safe for both residents and investors but also that our proactive security strategies are yielding results.”

He praised the dedication and synergy between the police and sister security outfits, emphasizing that ongoing collaboration will remain critical in sustaining the peaceful atmosphere in Anambra.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the command's commitment to maintaining law and order, urging the public to continue supporting security operations to ensure that Anambra remains a haven for growth, tourism, and investment.
